Bredal A/S

Working Principle

All the Bredal spreaders are equipped with 2 discs, which are geared up about 11% in proportion to the pto shaft. This means that the fertilizer is spread at high speed.

At 540 rpm at the pto the spreading speed is about 140 km/h and at 1000 rpm about 250 km/h.

If using ordinary fertilizers, it will be spread with at least double spreading width compared to the set working width. This is called double overlapp.

A triangular shaped spread pattern with a double overlapp ensures flexibility what regards variation of working width, number of rpm etc. Combined with above-mentioned spreading speed this ensures little wind sensibility.

In order to test the different fertilizer types as well as for on going development of the machines  reliable test facilties of good standards are needed. – BREDAL hires the advanced test facilities at reseachcenter BYGHOLM for a number of weeks every year. Then, the machines are tested under conditions as similar to the real practice as possible.

Based on the variation coefficient it is decided whether or not the test is satisfactory.
As a guidance within the fertilizer business,  a grading scale has been developed to judge the test quality. (See chart below)  BREDAL develop all spreaders to be graded very good or good.
